Virustotal detected trojan inside my norton 360 standard installation file

Hi

I downloaded Norton 360 standard (1 year license) from homepage and my installation file got detected on virustotal and said it was a trojan?! I re installed OS completely and it looks like it works fine again. But I wont dare to download anything other than what Windos and microsoft store has to offer.

What do I do now? Is there another antivirus than microsoft defender?

Norton/Symantec is a reputable anti-virus vendor. I used them for many years.

I don't use them anymore because of their anti-NRA stance, but that has nothing to do with their anti-virus performance, which is excellent.

You should be sure that you are installing from a legitimate Norton/Symantec site, and not some hacker pretending to be them.

There are other reputable anti-virus vendors too though. I currently use McAfee, which is also excellent.
