Thank you Thank you Thank you. I cannot believe my good fortune
Oh how happy I am that you like it FM. I have been practicing painting from nature and I found these and they are so beautiful.
Great links, Joanne, wonderful to have. Of course I'll put them in Helpful Links.
I saw a landsat fairly recently that showed western europe in the sun and from, say, Germany on in the dark with lights on...loved that one. I'll post it if I find it in my stash.
The examples you've shown do seem such abstract extravanzas...
YEH BUT take a look at the one from Coahuila Mex and try to figure out what happened first. Damn fine art. Course, I get all worked up over good ole
naked earth porn. Its a rocknocker thing, you wouldnt understand
simply incredible; thanks Joanne.
FM...hi!...Earthporn??!!
Take a look at the pic of Al Basra in Iraq.
Lucky me too,Nice work JD.
Farmerman, Guess what ? I have found the Atlantis Rock.
Without earth, there will not be any art.
my tubes of paint would be floating all over the place and I would have to keep hanging on to my drawing board. So I believe you are correct CI
Earthporn! What a great concept!
Mother Nature with her drawers down, woo hoo!
From the title of the topic, I thought we were going to be talking about Earthworks. Sculpture with dirt, y'know...
CI 's right: with no earth no earth art, right?
TGR
Saw the movie Rivers and Tides t'other day. It's about the work of Andy Goldsworthy. Earth artist in the sense that most of his work is done with objects found in nature/on the land. Most of his work is very very temporary.
Very beautiful film.
Sounds wonderful SP was that in the theater or on TV?
Was in a theater, but it's gone now, I think. It'll prolly be on PBS during fund-raising time...
Hope so I will watch the schedule.
In the mean time, look for his books at yer nearest big chain bookstore. Lovely stuff.
art in nature, i sometimes go out in the rain and watch the streams erode little designs in the earth. the earth gets my vote for all time best peice of artwork.
Books too - will check some out - thank you SP.
I am inclined to agree with Cinderwolf. When I see artists working with earth materials...lining up leaves, etc..I see the artists working with earth materials, and so on. I am more drawn to the earth's small changes or arrangements without the hand of an artist.
