mildew spot on rug

We have a rug that we unwisely had placed on the painted concrete slab in our breezeway. Since the concrete tends to "sweat" in the humid weather we've been having, the end result is that this rug (which cost ~$600) now has a couple of spots of mildew on it. The mildew started underneath the rug but is now visible on top. Does anyone know how to get rid of the mildew without bleaching the rug?
(We've tried a powdered spot remover and also "Resolve" spray, but neither seemed to work completely. I've considered borrowing a handheld UV lamp from my lab at work and trying to kill the mildew by irradiation, but does someone know a more conventional method?)

Try Greased Lightning. Ive had great luck with it getting things out of fabrics. It comes in a spray bottle with the cleaners... i think walmart carries it. Its taken washed in dried in blood and baby formula out of cotton and other stuff...

on the back of the rug try one of those MR Clean Magic Erasers... i just attacked some mold in a second hand fridge with one of those.... theyre seriously magic. Either way, i think at some point a UV lamp might be a good idea.. if it would kill any residual mold, you might be on to something.

Greased Lightening might soak through and damage the color on the right side.

I use Krud Kutter for everything.
Blood, mold, mildew, paint, candle wax, ANYTHING and any surface. It's all natural and the only thing I've ever found that actually does more than it claims. No harmful fumes or chemicals.

You can get it in the paint department at K-Mart or Home Depot. It's supposed to be an all natural paint remover (before it dries) but it does so much more.

ive never tried krud kutter. Greased lightning does have some wicked fumes. but ive never had it discolor my rugs.... the only thing its ruined was the finish on a dresser.... NO FINISHED WOOD... lol. I should try this krud kutter stuff... sounds promising.

I think we have some Krud Kutter around--I think I remember trying it when we were removing wallpaper. The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser sounds promising, too.
Thanks for the suggestions!
