My Gawd, will you look at this? Shocked While Letty's away the Brits will play. Razz

Ode to the Isles:

Get your kicks from '76?
And while you're in that vicinity,
Have a drink, a toast, a boast
And raise a glass to me.

McTag, hiama, old and knew,
No one bonds like you gents do.
So one more for the avatar,
An OJ from the citrus bar.

Very Happy Laughing Smile Razz

This is me, no more, no less
Dear Diary's where I go to 'fess

I love a bit of Food and Drink
I try to make Philosophers think

I joke with Debs and tease poor Gautam
But wouldn't let him pinch my bottom

I'm glad that I know all you guys
Unlike afuzz, you're real - no lies

So, here's to you, my cyber-friends
I hope this pleasure never ends

Very Happy

Tee hee? Very Happy Gautam, that, in no possible stretch of the imagination can be construed to be an ode, but, of course, neither can the rest of this light verse.

Love Pete's iambic feet
And Oak's sweet moggy stray.
And Gautam's hee,
From the fifth tee
Does not get in the way.
Even Keats' olympic feats
Would tolerate us here.
So have a ball,
Confess to all
You love the USA.

Cyber-friendship seems as good as any other, to me.
Meeting fellow posters in London was somehow confirmation of that: there were no surprises, there was no awkwardness, there was a feeling of camaraderie, there was a pleasant sharing of each other's company. KP and Gautam were there, large as life. ci covered half the globe to be there, driven by curiosity, and in the prior knowledge that London would not disappoint, whatever else happened, or failed to happen. Others made the trip, made the effort, made each other feel a little bit special, I believe...a unique event was taking place, but in a quiet and understated way.

Yes, cyber-friendship is here to stay.

It could be interesting to do a cultural comparison as typified by the London and Florida gatherings and how they were described. Wink

Sooz, know something? I asked Big Dice something similar to what you are asking. His answer has stuck with me. We all have something to say, and though the response is silent, it shouts out, neat thing. Smile

I have a perfect diet,
To keep all slim and trim.
It's called the Letty Loser Club
It works from stern to stem.
Just remove the avatar,
Then put it in hot water.
It will shrink and you will think,
You look just like you oughter. Razz

My heart is my kingdom,
My love is my wealth,
My soul is my subject,
My army is my health.

I rule over my land,
with passion and sometime sorrow,
I live for today,
And pray for tomorrow.

With charm as my weapon,
And hope as my defense,
Have set out to conquer,
This world so immense

Alone, but not lonely,
Riding across my province,
I am, and will remain,
The exquisite Indian prince

Gautam, That was breathtakingly beautiful. Your new avatar is every inch a Rajah, and so is your Indian ode.

And all Gautam needs now is a love interest who can bake his bread, make him a Vindaloo Inferno Curry, wash his clothes and give him lots of cuddles.

1, 2, 3, aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
