Seeing this soft-spoken, intelligent young woman testify might impress a lot of people about her integrity or courage, but it strikes me differently. It makes her seem even more disgusting to me because she clearly knew what Trump was, and chose to serve him for years.

@izzythepush,
I hear you. It scares me though, that someone so young (still in her twenties) and smart gave herself over to the service of a rotten crook for so long.

Why today's hearing was utterly devastating for Trump

@Region Philbis,
This will be about the umpteenth time Trump has been “utterly devastated”.

I sure wish people would go easy on that breathless, amped-up hyperbole.

The only thing that’s going to be “utterly devastating” for Trump is if they try, convict and lock his rotten ass in prison.

Here’s an interesting (or disgusting, depending) development.
In response to Hutchinson’s testimony about Trump physically struggling with the secret service agent driving “the beast” presidential SUV, some secret service agents who were present are willing to testify that no such physical confrontation occured.

@snood,
Later during an MSNBC program it was stated he wasn't in the "beast", he was in the vehicle he liked to run around in, the same vehicle he used during his hop-around to wave at people during his COVID hospitalization. I don't know what will be the final determination, but apparently the insides of each vehicle are different and that could be part of the confusion. Who knows, maybe he didn't really toss his McDonalds burger and fries against the fireplace in the Dining Room...............it's hard to figure out what the hell this man was trying to do, perhaps it was his fantasy to march into the Capitol with a crowd of slack jawed Proud Boys and demand to be deemed King. His fantasies far exceed anything I could imagine even for the most inept loser in the universe. Frankly, Donald Trump is the most revolting person I've ever seen outside of a poorly crafted Mafia rip-off movie.

@glitterbag,
So far as grabbing the wheel, I'll go with the Secret Service over Hutchinson. He might have wanted to, but that would take exceptionally long arms, even for someone with normal size hands. Anyhow, I can't see the SS lying for the benefit of Trump.

@glitterbag,
Yes. Most revolting indeed. And least observable redeeming qualities.

As far as the secret services’ story…
Anyone remember this story about Joe Biden needing to replace his secret service detail because of inordinate loyalty to Trump?

@snood,
If that was true, I think that shows some sanity. Cripes, it might’ve saved his life.

@Ragman,
Yes. Imagine having a crew of trained killers who were still loyal to Trump always in close proximity to the president.

@snood,
Just think if those trained Secret Service could’ve taken our national welfare to heart and put Trump down. WHat kind of patriots are these guys that didn’t just shoot that POS,

This is a report who saw yesterday’s publicized hearings:
A friend of mine saw the broadcasting of the hearings yesterday and told me some amazing things that eyewitness reports that transpired during this 1/06 sedition event on Capitol Hill. They (she?) testified Trump’s complicity in this riot. Trump wanted to join the marchers on the Capitol and had to restrained.he had a **** fit when he was prevtemted. He ordered the SS in the limo (the Beast) to let him out telling him “I’m the. President…let me out!”. He was busy eating fast food meal and threw his meal in a temper tantrum.

You can’t make this **** up!

Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony of Trump’s altercation with Secret Service detail did happen, multiple reports say

Mr Trump and his allies claim the altercation never happened but multiple sources now confirm ex-White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony

Quote:
The story of an altercation between former president Donald Trump and members of his Secret Service detail on the day of the January 6 attack on the US Capitol was widely repeated and discussed by Secret Service agents and other law enforcement officials when it happened, according to multiple reports.

According to CNN, two sources with the Secret Service say they heard about the incident described by ex-Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson in bombshell testimony before the House January 6 select committee on Tuesday. During the reported episode, Mr Trump berated the head of his protective detail, Robert Engel, and the driver of his armoured SUV, after he was told he could not go to the US Capitol to join the riotous mob he had summoned to Washington that day

Those sources told the network they heard of an “angry confrontation” between Mr Trump and his bodyguards stemming from their refusal to transport the president to the Capitol. Their accounts reportedly “align” with what Ms Hutchinson told the select committee.

On Tuesday, the ex-White House aide said Mr Engel and then-White House deputy chief of staff Tony Ornato, himself a Secret Service agent, informed her that Mr Trump had shouted “I’m the f***ing President of the United States” and demanded to be driven to the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, where an armed mob of his supporters was assaulting police officers and breaching security defences in hopes of preventing Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s 2020 election win.

Ms Hutchinson also said she was told the then-president grabbed the armoured car’s steering wheel and lunged at the throat of Mr Engel when he was told to remove his hand from the wheel.

Since her testimony, multiple sources close to Mr Trump, including those who say they’ve spoken to Mr Ornato, claim he is willing to testify that no such altercation took place.

But one source told CNN they heard Mr Trump “had sort of lunged forward” in anger after being told he could not go where he wanted.

“It was unclear from the conversations I had that he actually made physical contact, but he might have. I don't know," the source said. "Nobody said Trump assaulted him; they said he tried to lunge over the seat -- for what reason, nobody had any idea”.

Another agent told CNN said he’d been told about Mr Trump verbal outburst but nothing further than that.

Investigative reporter Hunter Walker, who was covering the White House for Yahoo! News during the January 6 attack, took to Twitter to report that another source, this one with the DC Metropolitan Police Department, had told him a similar story to what Ms Hutchinson said.

“Back in April, a law enforcement source told me that they heard DC Metropolitan Police officers affiliated with the presidential motorcade share a story of Trump demanding to be drive to the Capitol and getting into an altercation with Secret Service on January 6,” he wrote. “I heard this story months before Cassidy Hutchinson went public with these allegations. I believed the story to be credible at the time because of the source”.

@hightor,
That ‘did he or did not lunge’ story gets on my damn nerves.
In the scope of things that Hutchinson testified about, that story is the least significant, but it gets the most play. Because (those defending giving it so much attention say) it’s an indication of the veracity of all her testimony.

Well, that’s bullshit too - she said clearly it was something that was relayed to her, not something she witnessed herself. All the rest of her testimony is things she heard or experienced herself, that were said directly to her, or that she herself overheard. They give this story so much play because it’s gossipy clickbait. What we need to be laser focused on is what the most important audience member for these hearings - one Merrick Garland- is going to do at their conclusion.

It’s exactly like the way the media made so much of the leak about the SC Roe decision - who leaked? And, why did they leak? And, what does the leak say about the security of the information? And on, and on… While the thing we should have been laser focused on was what the **** we are going to do when they strike down Roe, and what the **** striking down Roe is going to mean.

The media insults everyone’s intelligence and plays stupid ******* games, and we validate their editorial decisions by plugging right in to the gossip and passing it on, instead of trying to hold them more accountable to do the job they are far better equipped to do than
we are - get at the hard truths and report them!
