I have a print of an old French painting, showing Saint Anna teaching little Mary to read. Mary uses a Thora pointer (translated from the German word Thorazeiger), a stick with a small hand on its top. Can anybody tell me the Hebrew name of this cultic tool?

Thora pointer
Thank you, BBB, google has 14 hits about the German name but no site tells the Hebrew. Mistral.
Mistral I got lots of Google hits using the term
but did not know what I was reading about except that Thora is maybe the first chapters of Gensis written by Moses but I am not sure if I am correct in that. And that the pointer was used as a guide to understand summarian or assriayn writing. If you can could you provide more informtion as I am no quite interested.
And a big welcome to A2k
Thora pointer
JoanneDorel, thank you, too. The English term might be wrong, it was my invention. Mistral.
You invented a phrase, hehe, and now I am on a quest for knowledge and a definition about it. Gotta love that.
Thora pointer
JoanneDorel, type the German term >Thorazeiger< and Google will show you the object. Mistral.
Thora pointer
Thank you JoanneDorel! You got it! Now I hope a specialist will help! Mistral.
@mistral,
So, at last - and 6 years later -, here's the answer by myself:
Thorapointer = Jad
@mistral,
And you remembered your original post. Awesome.
