Sort of on the same topic, in Toronto, we have a situation with people boycotting Chinese restaurants and groceries because of the SARS scare...this totally screams kneejerk racism to me, and I think it is completely innapropriate.
Cav, Here in Silicon Valley where we have a very high population of Chinese, many Chinese businesses and restaurants are hurting, because even the Chinese are afraid of SARS, and are staying away. I'm not ready to offer an opinion on SARS just yet, because we still don't know enough about this disease. One very interesting aspect of SARS in the US is that nobody has died from it yet. c.i.
