@izzythepush,
I just don't get how even a mediocre intelligence can get it so wrong. I think I finally got it this morning: it's not that she's missing the fascism, bigotry and hate, it's that she and her ilk have almost an emotional attraction to the fascism, bigotry and hate, even a sort of nostalgia for a place and time that has never been here in the states.

Now for the really crazy part: she's a teacher.

@hightor,
There is a very thick cord of neoNazis in law enforcement in my country. That fact has been established. It’s one of the reasons we experience a higher that expected death of minorities in custody.

The ratio of neoNazis in uniform is higher in Ukraine.

These are facts.

And, read my articles.

@Walter Hinteler,
Is it still illegal to export Rubles, Walter? Isn't this a useless exercise on Putin's part? All for show and no real effect. Europe and the US won't be buying his products anyway.

Do they exchange oil for commodities and put a Ruble value on the transaction?

@bobsal u1553115,
The announcement promptly strengthened the Russian currency, which is under massive pressure. The central bank and the Russian government now have one week to decide on the modalities for switching from foreign currency payments to rouble payments, Putin said.

I have no idea how this will work. And when.

However, in response to the sanctions imposed by the West, the Russian government had already decided at the beginning of the month that its own financial obligations to "unfriendly states"* would only be settled in roubles.

*These include Ukraine, Switzerland and Japan, as well as of course the EU, the USA, Canada and the UK.

@Lash,
People were a little surprised, but took it as a positive change of heart: Aater Vladimir Putin unleashed a war in Ukraine, Poland in particular, but also other states in Eastern Europe, quickly agreed to take in refugees from Ukraine. Of all things, these are the states that have been resisting the admission of refugees from other countries for years. The motive behind this seems clear: racism.
This is also evident in the Ukraine war.

It started already weeks ago

and according to rechearches by Spiegel and other journalists, some disappear into detention centres.

Kremlin leader Putin loses another veteran confidant: Former reformer Anatoly Chubais has resigned from his post as Putin's special envoy for relations with international organisations.

This was confirmed by a spokesman for Chubais, who was counted among the liberal camp, in Moscow on Wednesday. According to a report in the daily newspaper "RBK", the 66-year-old is said to want to leave Russia together with his wife and leave for Turkey.

I vaguely remember that! She thought because she does not read our posts,we don't read hers. The very first thing I do with one of her or builder's fairy tales is look up their sources.If it's legit - seldom happens, I read it for context and truthiness. I always read her dismal ****, the price of democracy and freedom is eternal vigilance and a few trips on the RW **** path to see what the little buggers are up to.

ROMAN PETRENKO - WEDNESDAY, 23 MARCH 2022, 10:26

Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu has not appeared in public since 11 March, so he has not been seen for 12 of the 28 days of war in Ukraine, Russian media reported.

Source: Russian investigative journalists from Mediazona and Agentstvo

Details: Journalists note that Shoigu has not appeared in public since 11 March.

Shoigu is usually very active in the media. With his arrival at the Ministry of Defence, the number of staff in the press service increased sharply and the agency began to pay a lot of attention to its public image.

Agenstvo reports that until 11 March, Shoigu used to appear in the news almost every day.

Within Shoigu's entourage there is talk of him not being in good health - he has heart problems, an acquaintance of the minister told the newspaper.

It is known that the last time the head of the Russian Defence Ministry appeared in the news was on 11 March. There is a video in which Shoigu presents state awards to occupiers of Ukraine who took part in the "special military operation".

On 18 March, Shoigu was mentioned in a statement on the Kremlin's website which said that President Vladimir Putin had discussed "the progress of the special operation in Ukraine" with the permanent members of the Security Council. According to the report, Shoigu was present at the meeting. No videos or photos from the meeting were published.

According to journalists, on the same day, 18 March, Channel One aired a story about Shoigu presenting awards. The story said that the event happened "today", but the picture in the story is identical to a video posted on the Ministry of Defence website on 11 March.

The latest news in Shoigu's profile on the Defence Ministry's website is also dated 11 March.

According to investigators, Shoigu is not the only person who has disappeared. Since 11 March, no events have been reported that were attended by Russian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Valery Gerasimov.

It will be recalled that according to Ukrainian intelligence, the only people in positions of power in Russia who support the war in Ukraine are Putin and Shoigu.

@bobsal u1553115,
Putin had started a witch-hunt among his inner circle already a couple of days ago.
Shoigus daughter Ksenia (31) was seen posing in Ukrainian colours of blue and yellow. This, and above all the more than ten thousand Russian soldiers who died in this war, will probably have contributed to it.

This thing will play out to a surprising ending: Ukraine drives the Russians out, and Russia will go through some serious inner turmoil.

A former defence attaché at the British embassy in Moscow says that his warnings of "a long, dark march to war" by Vladimir Putin were ignored.

Air Commodore Carl Scott, now retired, writes in a letter to the Financial Times that he and his colleagues "reported the inevitability of conflict in detail, regularly and with the despair of Cassandra".

The former senior officer alleges that in the years he served in Moscow (2011-16), in the UK things changed and "all was subjugated to the City, all served the interests of our lucrative status as a safe haven for corrupt, and corrupting, wealth".

First deliveries of $800 million in new US military aid have been delivered to Ukraine
Source: CNN

The first deliveries of the $800 million in new military aid that US President Joe Biden is sending to Ukraine have started to arrive in country, an administration official tells CNN.

Biden announced the new package last week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky delivered an impassioned plea to Congress for more help.

The US will continue to move the rest of the $800 million into Ukraine as quickly as possible, the official said, given it includes 800 Stinger anti-aircraft systems and 100 armed drones, among other assistance. Both are seen as critical to Ukraine's defense.

The US has nearly completed the delivery of most of the $200 million package Biden announced on March 12, including all of the Stinger anti-air systems and most of the Javelin anti-armor missiles. The remaining equipment from that package is expected to be delivered shortly, the official said, though they declined to offer an exact timeline.

German minister says further Strela missiles are on way to Ukraine
Source: Reuters

BERLIN, March 23 (Reuters) - German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on Wednesday that after delays in deliveries, further supplies of Strela missiles, which had been in the inventories of the former Communist East German army, were on the way to Ukraine.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine prompted Germany to stage a historic reversal of its policy of not sending weapons to conflict zones, but the Ukrainian government has been frustrated by delays.

"I can clearly say that further Strela deliveries are on the way," Baerbock told the Bundestag lower house of parliament.

"We are one of the biggest weapons suppliers in this situation, it doesn't make us proud but it's what we must do to help Ukraine," she added.

@Walter Hinteler,
Mistreatment of black refugees by those countries was a part of the story; refusal of the Ukrainian law enforcement to allow black people to board evacuation trains is the issue I was citing, as you know.

By Shaun King

Excerpt:

Ukraine had a small but thriving population of at least 20,000 Black academics, medical students, professionals and refugees—and they, too, were trying to flee the Russian invasion.

Except instead of being met with open arms and inviting borders, they were manhandled, mistreated, deprioritized, forced off buses and routinely told to get to the back of the line. And suddenly, African-Americans found an injustice that was eerily and painfully familiar. And in an instant, I saw something happen that truly broke my heart. While I am not sure anybody in the world has a deeper reservoir of compassion than African-Americans, it was almost like a switch had been flipped off. We will show up for everybody, but if we learn that you're a flagrant and overt racist, we do not have the time and emotional capacity to fight through our own oppression and care about people that seemingly hate us.
