There is a massive exodus of Russians leaving the country. There are no flights out, so their doing it by car.
Because more and more Russians want to leave their country, the Finnish railway is expanding its train connection from St. Petersburg in Russia to the capital Helsinki. Thousands have already arrived in Finland, and in addition to the Allegro express train, the buses on the 400-kilometre route between St. Petersburg and Helsinki are also full, the Finnish television station Yle reported.

"We are trying to offer several additional journeys on several days next week," a spokesman for Finnish Railways told the broadcaster. "The trains in the opposite direction are practically empty," he added.

Unite trade unionists are refusing to unload Russian oil from a German flagged tanker. The government has banned Russian ships, but not Eussian cargo.

"Unite workers at the facility will under no circumstances unload any Russian oil regardless of the nationality of the vessel which delivers it."
Sharon Graham, Unite General secretary.

Things have changed, back in the day Russia was the only country trade unionists had no problem with.

The planned establishment of a humanitarian corridor for the city of Mariupol in south-eastern Ukraine has failed for the time being. This was announced by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). "The scenes in Mariupol and other cities today are heartbreaking," the ICRC said. It said the organisation remained in contact with all parties to facilitate a safe withdrawal of civilians from various cities affected by the conflict.
The ICRC was supposed to guarantee the ceasefire for the evacuations actually planned for this Saturday.

@Walter Hinteler,
The slogan "Free Ukraine" will soon have to be printed on the business cards of Russian diplomats in Albania. This is because the mayor of the city of Tirana has announced that a section of the street in the embassy district will be renamed to show solidarity with Ukraine. The street is home to the Ukrainian and Russian embassies, as well as the embassies of Serbia and Kosovo.

"This street will define our city," Mayor Erion Veliaj wrote on Twitter, announcing aid deliveries to the Ukrainian-Polish border area. Veliaj is a member of the Socialist Party of Albania and has been mayor of Tirana since 2015.

@Walter Hinteler,
How clever Smile I've been to Albania - they are a lovely people. They had their own 4 decades of experience with bunker-mad, paranoid Communist president Enver Hoxha so I'm not surprised they support Ukraine.

@Mame,
That's not the case in Serbia unfortunately, about 4,000 people have been marching in a pro Russian rally in Belgrade.

Russia enabled Milosovich to butcher the Croats and Bosnians so it's not surprising.

From 1944 to 1954, but afterwards and until his death, he was First Secretary of the Party of Labour of Albania.

Chinese football fans will be missing out on the premiership this weekend. The broadcaster won't be showing it because the grounds are full of pro Ukraine signs and flags.

Unfortunately it hasn't done my side any favours, currently four bloody nil down to Villa.

This **** is unbearable to see, and I am so pissed at West hypocrisy right now because one of two, either we would stand up properly for Ukraine way before the war started which is an impossible scenario or we wouldn't mislead Ukrainians to believe they could face Putin without paying such an high price! **** the endless hypocrisy going on, and all its pseudo morality which does not account for real people and sells super hero idiots! This sort of mind control is the worst kind, it makes me want to vomit!

I think one thing Putin counted on was that the war would split the Americans. That has worked to a small extent in that some Republicans including Trump are blaming Biden and the Democrats for the war. This is a routine strategy for an authoritarian. What Putin didn't count on was that his actions would so strongly unify NATO.

A hacking attack had led to numerous customers of the KA-SAT service operated by Viasat no longer having internet access. The hackers took the decisive step of their attack on the morning of the Russian attack on Ukraine, of all places. On 24 February at 5 a.m., the attackers activated a faulty update, which caused KA-SAT customers to lose their network access.

The consequences of the attack were also felt in Germany. At least 3,000 wind turbines, which are connected to the grid via the satellite provider and can normally be remotely maintained via it, were suddenly no longer accessible - although they continued to run and generate electricity.

The federal government has since assessed the attack as a "cyber collateral damage case". No further effects on the critical infrastructure or even the security of supply in Germany are currently to be observed.

@Walter Hinteler,
As I've been watching this terrible thing unfold my feelings are all over the place. Part of me wants to believe that Putin will call this off, but the other part thinks back on Russian history and believes Putin is anxious to walk in and destroy the Ukrainians until they simply surrender. So many unanswered questions, the forty mile back up of Russian military vehicles????? Where are the soldiers sleeping, who's providing food?? I haven't seen any shelters along the route indicating protection for overnight stays. Maybe satellite photographs exist showing that, but I haven't seen anything. The mood seems to getting angrier and angrier, at the start we were saying no war, then we are stating admiration for the Ukraine President (he deserves it) but I'm sick about what could be the next step. I see Ukrainians being interviewed and wonder if they will even exist for another day. I just don't know how many horrible things are being planned for the people of Ukraine or the rest of the world.

@Albuquerque,
...hehehe just look at that when personal bias and utter mediocrity interferes with logic!

On my previous post one is left wondering what is being downvoted, the Ukrainian government comment on the no fly zone and west betrayal, the CNN news channel and the US position, or a black hole, because there is no 4th option!
