The Puffin Foundation (
http://www.puffinfoundation.org/ ) in Teaneck, New Jersey, seeks to open the doors of artistic expression by providing grants to artists and art organizations often excluded from mainstream opportunities.
The foundation makes grants that encourage emerging artists in the fields of art, music, theater, dance, photo- graphy, and literature whose works, due to their genre and/or social philosophy, might have difficulty being aired. The foundation does not have the means, however, to fund large film/documentary proposals, grants for travel, continuing education, or the writing or publishing of books.
Average grant awards range between $1,000 and $2,500.
Application forms for 2006 grant awards can be requested starting in July 2005. Proposals for 2006 grants will be accepted from October 2005 until December 30, 2005.
