Please give me your opinion- entering photo contest ,

Bug eating - ( the story- she was outside givng me great faces and I just took picture after picture. When her faces didnt stop, I found out she was chewing on a bug




One more possible "artsy" photo = Im not sure about this one. I just threw it in at the last minute trying to fill the 'cutsie' idea I think Gerber has ..

Shewolf - what is the purpose of the contest?

Is it just a straight out photo contest or is it more of a modeling contest? With some contests they're looking for a "face" to use and they will have their own photographers take the photos that they use. With other contests they are looking for beautiful photos.

Look for clues in the contest rules to determine which photo to enter. You've got a lot of great ones to choose from!

they are looking for a winning photograph.
they will reproduce the photograph if they choose to and will publish it as the winner in alot of baby magazines. They are not going to photograph the winning subject though.
The prize is 1,000 savings bond for the child .There will be 200 winners chosen. A small amount of people can enter ( 10,000 ?? maybe)
so my chances are better then average..
Im just not sure what KIND of photo they will want?
It is gerber so I am assuming the winning picture needs to be 'cherub-ish' but then again, they get tons of those , Maybe something diffrent might catch their attention...

And, do the photos get titles?

Eek, I didn't mean to submit that.. was going to delete it. Oh well, I'll finish the thought. Some photographers I know or have shown don't use titles, some do; at best it is additive, not necessary to the experience of looking; some feel it can deter from pure looking. I thought of it though in that knowing there was a bug involved adds to my enjoyment of a photo I had already loved before I knew about the bug.

I still like the first one best of all of them, but like all of them. Love bug-face!

From the description it sounds to me like they want a technically superlative photo -- clear focus, high resolution -- capturing a superlatively cute kid in a superlatively cute moment.

I personally love all the photos, doubt that the first one is the kind they're looking for, with only hair and no face.

If choice 2 was in perfect focus, I think that'd be closest to what they're going for.

you can enter one a month, but i didnt notice the invite until a week ago and it ends on Aug-26th. >sigh< anyway....

I get what you mean about titling osso.. and I dont think that is what they are looking for either.

if they are looking for an 'advertisment' style photo , I dont know that I have anything NEAR that style of photo.
I dont get the cheub style pictures of bean because it is the bug eating, dirt digging, climbing side of her that I will miss when she grows up. To me she will always be cute so I dont try for those types of photos.

Does anyone know of any sites that have alot of winning photos on it from any type of baby contest?
Maybe I can look through those and see something i can mimic or already have and just forgot about...
