My doctor (in Brooklyn, NY) recommended to me that I have a particular medical procedure performed. Is there a place I can read statistics on the outcomes (e.g., patient ends up worse off) of such a procedure?

There are several websites like Web MD that will have information. I would look up the procedure in Google and you will probably find what you want.
