I have a project to do on Indian Art. I really need help!! What are the styles of Indian Art (art, textiles, architecture), how are they identified, what are the influences of foreigners on Indian art, how has it changed? How are the art styles relevant to the world?
Thanks for your help,

India is quite a diverse nation which I am sure includes a wide variety of arts. Did you have something specific in mind?
And - India has a long history. You might start by going to google.com and checking for architecture + india and then try history of textiles, India ...
a few years ago some of us were involved in a thread that traveled to different countries and people on the site who knew those countries led the tours, giving lots of links. The fellow who is known here as The Prince gave a fine architectural tour of India. (Osso and Aa did California, Margo did Australia, Craven did Brazil...) Sadly, that particular website is no longer available. But, I remember from that experience that there are such links on Google.
Indian art as distinguished from Native American art? This could effect the answers and the overall direction of the project.

I didn't really have anything in mind, just the different art types of the entire nation of India.
(Roger, I still laugh when I see your signature.)

How could I reach this "Prince?" I believe he might be able to help me. I tried a whole bunch of sites including Google, I found stuff- but not a lot.
This may be a roundabout way of reading about art in India, but it's something I might check out if I were you -
I happen to get a daily newsletter from a site that scans certain newspapers for architectural news. And once in a while, there is a clip from a newspaper in New Delhi.
You might find out the names of the biggest newspapers in India, and look up articles on those websites, re art, architecture, textiles, and so on. Those articles might not be full overviews but they might be.
Not so easily. He posts here once in a while. He has a demanding job that takes up a lot of his time.
Keep googling...
OK, here's a site.
http://www.famous-india.com/buildings-in-india/
To get real architectural commentary about each building, you'd have to do more googling.
The Times of India
this link to The Times of India might help?
the site vivien suggested- the time of india- i went there before she suggested it, i couldnt find anything there. but thanks anyways.
