Squinney,
CJ is right about the tofu-Fredo...I was a staunch conservative in this regard until I tried it. Damn good, and easy to digest.

Princess here likes her dishes as themselves. No turkey tofu, for example...

but I like my tofu with lemon grass and peanuts and whatever else is in that, cubed, tossed in a teflon pan...
and I plan to like my organic tandoori savory indian spiced tofu, cubed, perhaps with red Bhutan rice.

but, nah... not with fettucine...

Aren't peas and beans (including soy/tofu) a bit rough for those with a sensitive gut to digest? Seems that production, and management, of gas (which is a definite side effect for most) would be extraordinarily painful right now.

Hamburger's notorious for his wonky gut. Rice pudding of various sorts seem to be safe when things are particularly delicate.

Yeah, that's what I thought I remembered, too.

Maybe broth is the way to go, protein-wise. Good for wonky guts.

I agree - soy can be a bit hard on the digestion. I personally find black beans and navy beans to be easiest to digest. I agree with whomever suggested eggs. Eggs are good food.

No, it's a package, and the first time I've bought any already-spiced tofu.

Made by Tofu Shop Speciaty Foods in Arcata, CA.
Ingredients - Tofu (filtered water, organic soybeans, magnesium chloride), organic tomato paste, organic lime juice, organic herbs and spices, cayenne, sea salt.

I haven't tried it yet, but it's sister, the package of lemongrass peanut tofu was good...

Mr Wolf makes peanutbutter steaks with tofu.
they are the center of my culinary world!!
He uses cashews, tamari, olive oil, sea salt, garlic and a few other things. Makes a paste with the peanut butter mixture, then slow bakes the tofu until it is thick and a little hard.
It ends up being like cutting into a steak. You need a knife and a good bib.
