Poll: Happy Mother's Day 2021! Doing anything special for the holiday?

It’s not Mother’s Day here.

We celebrated it on 27th March.

You might find this interesting, Mothering Sunday as it is known, has been celebrated over here for a very long time, but the mother in question wasn’t a person, it was a church.

The mother church, where someone was brought up, that was the day that people who had left home to find work elsewhere returned home to go to their mother church.

Now it’s all about mums.

I did wish Christian friends, family and neighbors whom I know are mothers a Happy Mother's Day.

I called and/or texted them.

I was not able to visit my mother for the holiday this year nor was I able to reach her by phone. I did tell an aid to tell her I wish her a Happy Mother's Day.

To celebrate my mom (and grandmom to my daughters) - we invited her over the afternoon before mothers day (my daughter was scheduled to work on Sunday afternoon) - made her a nice dinner and just spent the afternoon chatting.

On Mothers Day my daughter took me out to breakfast - only to find it was a 2 hour wait (this particular place did not take reservations) we left and went to a different small local place. Went to the store and bought her some shoes for prom and she went to work.

When my husband got home - he had to work that morning - he took me out and bought me an outfit for my other daughter's college graduation scheduled for next week.

Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful mothers. For me, every day is Mother's day. My mother always makes a smile on my face, she is a god for me. I celebrated mother's day with my family. We went restaurant for dinner and enjoyed the party too.
