@Real Music,
Parks and Recreation is kind of new (but so is the American version of the Office). It is pretty brilliant and quite funny.

The Good Place might be too recent to be on the list. But, one of my favorite recent shows.

Fawlty Towers is by far my top favorite. I still laugh my ass off at John Cleese shtick more than 40 years later.

@Ragman,
I don’t know if it’s available because i5 was only shown once and I’ve never seen the series repeated, but Tygo Road starring Kevin McNally is the closest to Fawlty Towers I’ve seen.

McNally stars as the manager of a community arts centre after a high flying career in the city. There are similar farcical events and McNally’s character is similar to Fawlty, but it’s not a knock off by any means.

I just realized I may have confused Fawlty Towers with "Are you being served"?

They all seem the same.

@Ragman,
He’s just trying to get my attention, anything to give his life meaning.

This is a person who quotes Python at the drop of a hat, so the notion he would mistake a comedy with Cleese in with anything else is absurd.

A few years back in order to celebrate x amount of years of British comedy certain classic shows were given a revamp.

Porridge starred Fletcher’s grandson, also a career criminal, and went down very well. A couple of lost episodes of Dad’s Army were remade with a new cast, again to great success.

Not so much Are You Being Served, the homophobic portrayal of Mr Humphries was panned by critics and viewers alike.

They won’t be making any more of those.

@izzythepush,
This made me laugh. I don't think about Izzy as much as he imagines I do.

Good Times

Florida (Esther Rolle) applies for a job as a bus driver and with the help of little
Gary (Gary Coleman), she gets it.
