Can anyone out there help me find out where to find..

I am despertly trying to find a quote written by Ralph Waldo Emmerson, though cannot remember where I read it or what book/Essay it came from. It is about your past, and letting it go in terms, stating something in the terms of diving deep into the water or sea and comming out stronger or learning from it. I read it so long ago but is one of my favorites and wish to relocate it.
