@Region Philbis,
This angle is significant because you can see boxes in the shower - look to the right of the chandelier (what?, chandelier in the bathroom!):

Behind the chandelier and reflected in the window also. Even a little bit of a brown box peeking out above the shower curtain on the left.

Palmer: Confused Donald Trump says he might cut plea deal in DOJ case if they pay him

https://www.palmerreport.com/analysis/confused-donald-trump-says-he-might-cut-plea-deal-in-doj-case-if-they-pay-him/50600/

Donald Trump made his first public appearance after being criminally indicted by the DOJ, and as one might have predicted, it went rather stupidly. Trump oddly made a point of insisting he’ll stay in the 2024 race even though he’s going on trial fairly soon for Espionage Act charges. This felt oddly defensive, given that no one anywhere was expecting him to just drop out immediately after being indicted. But then he said something truly strange.

Trump said he might be willing to cut a plea deal with the DOJ if “they pay me some damages.” No really, he said this. He really said this.

Maybe Trump was trying to be funny. But even if so, what he said still didn’t make sense. He seems to think this is some kind of civil case, where only monetary damages are on the line. He thinks this is negotiable. He doesn’t really appear to understand that he’ll be put on criminal trial, he’ll be found guilty, and he’ll go to federal prison, and the only “negotiation” he could potentially make is a slightly shorter prison sentence in exchange for pleading guilty.

Snip

But all of Trump’s obvious confusion and lack of a human sense of humor aside, he may have given something away here. He seems to be talking about some kind of scenario where he’s paid to go away, which makes you wonder if his endgame really is to get the RNC and its donors to pay him to exit the race rather than continuing to “run” once he’s in prison. We’ll see.

Trump could sit in a jail cell for '4 to 5 hours' before arraignment: former Southern District of Florida prosecutor

Appearing on MSNBC on Sunday morning, a former prosecutor for the Southern District of Florida explained what Donald Trump will experience when he turns himself into the authorities in Miami next week to face a 37-count indictment.

Speaking with host Katie Phang, former U.S. Attorney Jeffrey Sloman walked host Katie Phnag through the stages of the former president's arraignment and said, if normal procedures are followed, he could be held in a jail cell for hours before entering the courtroom.

Asked if Trump will be handcuffed, Sloman said he wasn't sure before adding, "I know that for regular people, when you voluntarily surrender, at about eight or nine in the morning, an agent who is in charge of the case takes the defendant into custody. The pretrial services department does a full and complete history of the defendant for the three PM arraignment."

What is truly amazing (but also completely expected) is how Trump's own words implicate him in the indictment. He just can't stop bragging about how he can break the law and get away with it.

@engineer,
There's a weird echo over here with Trump lite Johnson who resigned the same day the Trump's indictment was revealed.

Johnson jumped before he was pushed, the Partygate dossier, detailing his behaviour during lockdown, is said to be damning.

Johnson looked like he would be suspended for over 10 dates triggering a recall vote and most likely a by election.

He didn't go quietly either, storming off in a petulant manner and attacking the Government which has angered a lot of his party.

Johnson is finished politically but is not going to jail.

Trump is still in with a shot at president, but he could also go to jail.

They're both such narcissists I bet each one envies the other.

I think it's more likely each thinks the other envies them.
