How stupid is Trump?

The Nobel Committee said the medal can change hands, but "the title of a Nobel Peace Prize laureate cannot".

Well he deserves it. After all, he did stop 754 wars.

Actually, I think he claims he stopped 175% of all the wars that were going on when he came into office.

Of course he wants the medal out of vanity.
And of course he wants to draw level with Obama, whom he despises and who stands for everything Trump wants to erase and whitewash with his own significance.
But he also wants the prize because it is one of the strongest symbols of global civil society.

In reality, the Nobel Peace Prize is only important because the liberal part of the global public has declared it to be so.

To wade into situations where one is least welcome is Trump's lifeblood.
It only works because there are opponents. It is only because they take the prize seriously that Trump wants it in the first place.
