How stupid is Trump?

In the video on his private platform ‘Truth Social,’ in which Trump celebrated the bombing of Caracas, he accompanied the images of the attack with the song ‘Fortunate Son’ by Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) – choosing, of all things, a 1969 anti-war anthem as the soundtrack for his war.

Perhaps he simply didn't understand the song, just as many people still misunderstand Bruce Springsteen's ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ as a patriotic anthem? That's likely, but neither Trump nor his supporters care.

It will be interesting to see which song the US president will use to illustrate his grab for Greenland next. He might well choose ‘Let it Go’ from “Frozen” – but I'm betting on ‘Cold as Ice’ by Foreigner.

Judge says Trump’s acting US Attorney investigating Letitia James is serving unlawfully

A federal judge on Thursday ruled that the Trump administration’s pick to be the US Attorney for the Northern District of New York must stop his work on two ongoing criminal investigations into President Donald Trump’s political foe Letitia James, the New York state attorney general.

The ruling, which says prosecutor John Sarcone is not the valid acting US Attorney out of Albany, quashes grand jury subpoenas Sarcone signed in August that were sent to the New York state government and sought information on investigations James spearheaded and that Trump opposed.

It is the latest blowback from the courts to nullify prosecutors the president has wanted to empower but who haven’t been Senate confirmed.

Trump and his cult are okay with Renee Good being shot to death because of her, in effect, protesting our government...but Trump is promising (and his cult is accepting) that he will bomb and otherwise take reprisal action against Iran if the government there takes action against people protesting their
government.

Just what level of hypocrisy is needed to wake these people up?

To paraphrase Jesse Ventura (from a recent clip of a video I saw) the most obvious indicator of a "police state" is when responsibility for the enforcement of civil law is handed over to the military.

Not only that, they've lionized Ashli Babbitt, who was anything but peaceful.

The people who think there is some equivalency between the shooting of Ashli Babbitt while breaking into a part of the Capitol...and the shooting of Renee Good while trying to extricate herself from a terrifying ICE situation...are nuts, Jespah. It is difficult for me to understand how we Americans got to the point where a significant number of people endorse the crap coming from the MAGA crew.

Donald Trump isn't reinventing the wheel either. At least, that's true of the portraits he has circulated of himself. However, he and his advisors draw quite freely on models from art and contemporary history, piecing together elements from them. The latest portrait looks like a mix of various depictions of rulers, somewhere between a prince regent and a dictator.

The next one will most probably resemble “The Colossus” from the Museo del Prado in Madrid.
