If seems impossible that anyone could view that short video and not cringe at what Trump was doing, but...you were able to do it with no trouble.

To my knowledge, it is customary and considered more respectful to reserve the military salute for members of the military.
In the US, this seems to be different.

But it makes my toe nails curl when I see a person exempted from the draft due to a claim of bone spurs in his heels doing it.

That draft dodger giving a salute is an insult to common sense...of which he seems to have none.

On a personal note, I saluted while uncovered and in civilian clothes, but I was given permission from the person I saluted. He was a Medal of Honor recipient, and when I met him at a formal function, I mentioned that all my life I had wanted to salute someone who received that honor. He said he would receive my salute, but it was the medal I was saluting...not him. There was a four star general standing along side us...and he did not seem to mind.

At 30 seconds he stops and stares straight ahead and she has to awkwardly guide him into turning to the right. At 47 seconds she indicates that he should take his place to her right and he starts wandering, zombie-like, away from her instead of standing by her. Then she has to hurry to catch up with him. Come on, the Japanese wouldn't choreograph such a poorly synchronized ceremony. All he had to do was stay at her side and follow her prompts.

Now, I'll allow that the old geezer might not have had time to memorize the moves and practice them. We've seen videos of him trying to "dance" and it's obvious that he's not particularly gifted in coordinating the movement of his body. He even admits to having difficulty walking down stairs. The Japanese have one of the most intricately aesthetic cultures on the planet and why they even thought to put the bumbling dotard through such an excruciating display is really puzzling.

His clumsy mistakes are even more obvious in this video and the whole world laughed at it.
