Elon Musk to be appointed Secretary of Cost Cutting if Trump wins.

Neither Trump nor Musk were forthcoming  on exactly what the restructuring of the economy means. They have said the restructuring will involve slashing many federal departments and eliminating many civil service jobs and replacing them with cronies. Musk also has announced that as a result of his restructuring there will be a "necessary economic collapse" and American households will be subjected to an intentional "temporary hardship," and they must "embrace the pain," but the result in the future will be a better economy. (This is reminiscent of the perpetual 5-year plans of the former Soviet Union. the people were usually suffering, but they somehow never reaped the benefits).

Neither Trump nor Musk commented on how much they themselves would be suffering with the collapsed economy. Musk did not elaborate on whether or not he would buy up stock from collapsed companies and add to his portfolio.

Thom Hartman has something to say about billionaires taking advantage of the lowered values of stocks during a recession:

It is our fault that we let our democracy slide away so easily. We took it for granted that our democracy would last forever. It's what Timothy Snyder called the doctrine of inevitability, that things would always go on the same or improve slowly. It's gone now. Our freedom will slowly eke away, and we were easily tricked by a twisted little fool. We gave up what many others died for, and now we have to live with it.

Actually, an election is an example of democracy.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un was elected to the rubber-stamp parliament with 100% votes.
Iraq former president Saddam Hussein also won 100% votes in a 2002 referendum on whether his decades-long rule was to continue.
Former Supreme Leader Kim Jong-il fared almost as well as his son in 2009, winning 99.9 % of votes.
Raul Castro earned 99.4% votes in the 2008 Cuban election and Syria's Bashar al-Assad secured 97.6% votes for his 2007 presidential referendum.

All examples of democracy accord to Brandon.

@Walter Hinteler,
I meant a fair election is an example of democracy in action. Are you suggesting that the recent American election was unfair?

@Brandon9000,
I neither mentioned the USA nor an American election.
But thanks for rephrasing your ealier response.

@Walter Hinteler,
I merely stated that the election of Trump WAS an example of democracy and said nothing more.

You took exception to my statement. You pretended that I had meant that rigged elections were examples of democracy, when I clearly meant elections such as the one we just went through. Do you disagree with my statement that the election of Trump was an example of democracy? If an election isn't an example of democracy, what is? What is the basis of your objection?

You didn't.
You wrote:

One sentence. Nothing about Trump.

@Walter Hinteler,
Let me explain. coluber2001 said:

"It is our fault that we let our democracy slide away so easily. We took it for granted that our democracy would last forever."

He was talking about the election of Trump. Responding, I said:

"Actually, an election is an example of democracy. "

You then mentioned examples of fake or rigged elections in dictatorships and claimed that I thought they were examples of democracy, which I don't.

When I said "actually, "an election is an example of democracy," I hadn't intended to include fake or rigged elections. It hadn't occurred to me that someone needed the clarification: "If they're on the up and up." I assumed that it would be obvious that that was what I meant.

With that clarification, do you have an objection to my claim, "actually, an election is an example of democracy?"

Yeah, all of that was clear to most of us, but Walter the village nit-picker clearly can't believe what happened in the latest DEMOCRATIC election in the US of A, along with most of the members of this clearly biased group. Some of them have even "moved on" rather than face up to the fact that despite their months of serenading each other, while dog-piling anyone not a part of their little clique, their "efforts" amounted to zip.

It was a runaway victory for the Republicans across the board, and Trump cleaned up in the electoral "college" as well, so there's no narrow win, unlike when he trounced Hillary last time, but she apparently "won" the popular vote, whatever that means.

It was a literal killing, and it was clearly because the Dems picked a couple of lemons, thinking that a black woman was the ticket. Bad move.

@Brandon9000,
The US may be the largest western economy, but they're certainly not "the world", and the BRICS nations actually control more resources at present.

Trump just needs to continue with dismantling a very corrupted system that has usurped control of much more than anyone should control.

@Builder,
Geezus you're an FW. You just make up **** to satisfy you're own torchlight wankery. Clearly all the biased people on this thread (not you of course) accept the election result they are merely expressing that it is not the result they wanted and given Trump's comments leading up to the election fear for the democratic process and their country's future.

But on the bright side everything that fucks up from here on in because of US 'policy' I can say to you 'at least you got what you wanted'.

100% Tariffs. Pffft.
