The US citizenry is (in)famous world wide for it's über parochial views and general ignorance of the world outside of the USA. Or much it appears outside of their own state, town or 'hollow'.
We are all aware for example, I trust, that the USA via the UN spent several years
losing horribly in Afghanistan ...... Yet one wonders how many of those in the US public and/or those assembled here could even find Afghanistan on a map. One has to suspect ... too few.
There is in psychology (of which my wife is a Dr) a main stream theory, named 'Theory of mind'. In simplistic language, the ability to see the views and beliefs of others and to understand why they have them. In truth most people are extremely limited in their skill base in this (and so many other) mental activities; their 'Theory of mind abilities' stuck at about age 6 ... "What about me!!" ... is about it.
We can see this in stark relief on this site, with people such as '****' here and others (none of who do anything to garner the slightest respect).
However I know they are around the lower levels of the median for IQ, I know their education is poor in reality, I know their backgrounds are socio economically deprived, I know their lack of social skills .... Ergo, I know why they post the endless drivel that they do. However, that does not excuse their displays of ignorance because ultimately these people are dangerous if given belief they have a value which they simply do not possess.
Using some well know names (in the hope at least someone has heard of them), it is these very people who vote for/empower people such as Hitler, Mussolini and Franco. Just a handful of the over represented stream of 20th century despotic dictators.
It is of no account in the scope of the world if one person is stabbed by another, lynched by another, necklaced by another ... That is what we do as a species, we are destructive and hate filled, there is no denying this fact. All we have on this site and the rest of the internet social media is one faction whining about another ... be it politics or sport teams, it is all the same. Same drives, same incredible ignorance and stupidity.
Some other fool posting here has a signature which intones that inside every liberal is a despot waiting to rise ... Maybe. But the actual point is that the right wing infant doesn't like the liberal version of despotic, what they want is the version which they believe looks after them.
This is the problem when 'Theory of Mind' is stuck at age 6 ... 6 yr old children are tiny despots, they are bullies, they want it all and want it now .... they want the toy and who cares about the weaker child ... They do not care why it is weaker, they just attack and see what happens.
Myself I am an intellectual, a proven leader and a proven warrior ( I have the gene to prove it) ... Therefore like my father, his father and so many generations previous to myself; we do not attack without thought. We do not attack at all if there is a better answer ... which there usually is.
All that the ignorant do is attack because they are too unskilled and lacking in all ways, to do otherwise.
Democrats, GOP, Liberals, Neo Liberalism, NS, Fascism, Communism, Socialism and any other political outlook is all simply people looking for the exact same answers ... “What do we do with the plebs?” Plus, “What about me?” Because no matter how far up the food chain that question never leaves anyone.
America is dystopic and entirely socially dysfunctional. This is because of various factors from it's ludicrous voting system to, as has been mentioned, it's endlessly dense, ill informed public. America is in the death throes of it's 20th century power and as such has never been more dangerous to the world. It is thrashing about trying to find redemption from the burning pit it has thrown itself into.
If one lives in a society where approximately 50% are in poverty, 50% have no effective medical care, 80% are actually in reality hand to mouth .... Then you have an issue even when one is in the 20%.
Because whilst my family could afford to live in the gated community, we could easily afford the private security army, the bullet proof cars, the body guards ... Who wants to live like that?
When my wife goes shopping for clothes, I do not want to worry about her safety, I do not want to be concerned that her bodyguards are there, that she may have to walk through human excrement to get to her designer shop.
It would seem that you people and it really is 'you people', need to understand that your petty pathetic squabbling is what makes your country so repulsive.
PS ... Whatever the idiot's name is ..... If you have a prison system where people are raped (as I know you do) , why is that anything to be proud of? It is in Europe rare to see a complete moron but you and your little friends here, do defy that generally accepted convention.
