Fill up your backpacks with cheap liquor, assorted pharmaceuticals, fireworks, marijuana, some Semtex, a whole bunch of pornography, some "Osama is the New Muhammed' books, credit card blanks, pirated CDs, pirated DVDs, pirated software, and marry some girl too and try to bring her (and her extended family) into the country too as your spouse and dependents.

The obvious solution is to cross from Nuevo Laredo to Laredo, where you will encounter Texas State Liquor Control agents who are only interested in collecting the tax on the booze and who don't give a damn how much you bring back.

No, it's not a bright idea at all. Getting drunk on a regular basis or to an extreme degree isn't a bright idea, either--believe me, i've done it and i regret it and i don't do it any longer.
