I see ads for this in Popular Mechanics magazine and wonder if it's really as good as it sounds. Circular saw blades to cut through steel?!

I have never seen the "double blade" you speak of. However, I have used metal blades in circular saws to cut light metals and they work fine. Most of the blades that will fit into a circular saw will wear quickly if you're trying to cut through heavier metals.
