I'd offer Carrie and Saul, Homeland...but the "funny" would have to be interpreted differently.
As for Will and Charlie...I wondered why The Newsroom was not offered by anyone as a favorite series in the thread devoted to favorite TV. It was one of the most entertaining series I ever viewed. Hokey...very hokey at time...but entertaining.
EDIT: Oops...BROmance. I musta skipped that part.
And "entertaining" should be very big in the Entertainment Industry.
@peterhalloway,
Scrubs: Turk and JD
Community: Abed and Troy
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Jake and Charles
Peep Show: Mark and Jeremy
The Simpsons? Bart and Milhouse?
Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton (the Honeymooners)
I'm Dickens, He's Fenster
Car 54, Where Are You?
Crowley and Aziraphale from
Good Omens. Both the book and the TV adaptation were awesome.
Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble
Ricky Ricardo (Desi Arnaz) and Fred Mertz
Starsky and Hutch (1975-1979)
The Cisco Kid and Pancho (1950-1956)
How did we miss The Lone Ranger and Tonto.
I thought this was about people who were best friends on and off screen which is why I said Vic and Bob because they are. Rick Mayall and Ade Edmonton were best friends but they never played friends.
@izzythepush,
From a 1985 newspaper article.

"Whenever I think of Jay Silverheels, I think what a wonderful friend he was," he says. "As good a friend offscreen as he was on.
@Leadfoot,
I’m sorry, but those names mean nothing to me.
@izzythepush,
Bloody limey...
I've got to stop playing 'Dreams' and go look for that book cover design. Got to be a hard choice. It shouldn’t matter, but it does.
Andy Griffith and Don Knotts.
@Leadfoot,
Limey is better than septic.
@izzythepush,
Sure, but I’ll take mine with a bit of Gin and Tonic, please.
