I am using Windows 10, Microsoft Word 8.
I clicked something wrong and now the "headings," :
File – Home – Insert – Design - …View
Disappear except when I bring the cursor to the top of the screen.
How do I get them to stay there permanently like before?

Those headings are called the ribbon. Pull the ribbon down from the top of the screen and you'll see a pin icon in the lower left corner of the ribbon. Click it to pin the ribbon.
