I'm trying to figure out the name of a movie I saw as a child, probably late 70's. I thought it started Donald Sutherland as an alcoholic who's marriage is failing. The movie also featured the song Yesterday.
@jhenkemeyer,
Couldn't find what you're looking for, but promise you'll love this one.

@jhenkemeyer,
Here's a
link to all his movies, might ring a bell for you.
@jhenkemeyer,
I think it was from a Grishom novel (did I get the name right?) - Maybe a Time to Kill? It was about a white lawyer in the south that defends a black father who killed two white men that raped his daughter.
@Walter Hinteler,
Yep. It even has the song in the credits:

Good job. Hopefully the OP will come back and award you your ribbon. In the meantime here's a thumbs up.
@Walter Hinteler,
Huh? The Morning After has Dick van Dyke not Donald Sutherland in it.
@Linkat,
That's probably why the OP was having trouble tracking it down.
@oralloy,
Since he "thought it started Donald Sutherland", I just thought differently.
@Walter Hinteler,
Ok I missed the song part but the movie I mentioned had Donald Sutherland as an alcoholic and he cheated before on his wife with this lawyers secretary... he wasn’t the star but a supporting actor in the movie. Funny how this fit perhaps because sun there and was in so many movies and he does a great drunk.
@Walter Hinteler,
Thanks! Not sure how I got Duck Vandyke and Donald Sutherland mixed up?
@jhenkemeyer,
If you were searching for Duck Vandyke, no wonder you came up empty
@roger,
good catch.
By the way, Dick Van Dyke had stated he is a recovering alcoholic. It's good he got it under control
