The Swirly Food-Coloring Dance of the Chimera!

I will have to view 'em on my work computer, Monger- cos the colours are distorted on this one...number one looks a bit like a magical animal/human transformation to me - chimera? I like it- I like the wildness and movement of it - and the composition.

Number 2 I definitely need to look at in the right colours, I think, bit I like it - again I Like the composition.

Not so sure about 3 - but I DO like the wings! I think she is very well done - she is just not in a style I find sympatico.

Yeah anime ain't exactly my favorite style either, but I've been tryin to do it a bit recently cuz it's HUGE here! Japanese business men are always reading anime comic books on the trains & such ... I think all my art is kinda influenced by it.

Aha - I was going to say it (the last one, I mean) looks like Japanese animation - which makes sense, of course, and there is just something I can't come at in most Japanese animation.

Glad you like Chimera - I just looked it up in the dictionary - and it is seen as rather a negative thing - I did not mean it so!

Well I like that it also means a wild illusion along with the other freaky definition. How do ya see any kinda transformation going on with the girl though?

Taking an idea from some of Craven's art, there were supposed to be little hidden masks & things in that top one, but I don't think you can really see anything at this resolution and with the computer generated color I added to the drawing.

By the way, manga (anime) flicks often do better in theaters here then the latest, biggest US action films! I don't get in either

i see a fish/bird thingy at the top right - likea mask, or a half transformation - then a female torso, with 2 breasts - and a spare out at the right (you be WEIRD!) then legs/tail/hips wavin in wild confusion.

Hmmmm - trying to figure out what I HATE about that animation. It is a bit like "Fantasia" - where I am sickened by the eyes of the fish, or the stupid flirtatiousness and sickening antropomorphism of the hippos and elepahants and crocodiles - it is cheap and degrading, IMHO.

I guess the Japanese-style animation makes me barf with the big, cheap, sentimental eyes - like velvet art, you know, the Asian women and the sickening little kids - and the regimentation of the animation - there is a sameness and cheapness about background and movement that I find repellent and mass-produced.

I dunno - I just hate it....

For th etransformation stuff - I keep thinking the word "fetish " - not as a sexual thingy - but as a deity or animal dreaming "guide'.

pretty perceptive all around there! The fishhead thing is also supposed to be her hair though, which goes out into braids at the end. She ain't no headless chimera ya know!!!!!!!!!!!! Now who's the REAL weirdo here!?
