@Walter Hinteler,
Haven't tried those. I had organic banana chips in my fridge for months and months before I gave up and threw them out. They're ok, but I found myself eating anything else instead.

Unshelled but salted sunflower seeds... I have addict potential there. I remember I used to study with giant piles of the shells building up. Tacky looking, but it kept me at the desk. That didn't entirely stop when I started smoking, but then I had potential for two piles, cigarette butts and sunflower seed shells. Aaack.

(pomegranate and pear roasted soybeans)

I moved onto their newest flavour - honey ginger and lime - this past week.

@ossobuco,
hey ossobuco

thanks for the nutty 'roast your own' idea - for some reason i've never thought of doing that myself -
i can imagine using curry spices - or how about chilli or paprika, sea salt and black pepper - blimey
The day i can't fit into my favourite pair of jeans i'm blaming you entirely ok?

@ehBeth,
Your breakfast ehBeth?
Not the coffee milkshake surely... the peanut butter and jam toast?

Christ, i can see why people let this thread die - just talking about this stuff makes me want to eat it
Those soya bean things look interesting
which i could just try a few out that packet : )

@Endymion,
Endy, I tried that with chili pepper, granulated garlic, salt, pepper, and olive oil (great minds, eh?) but that was before I knew about roasting them low (175 US ovens) for twenty minutes. The spiciness was good but I roasted that batch too hot and long. So, the next time I repeated it at the lower temp, etc. and they came out great.

The thing about it, doing your own spicey nuts is much less expensive, assuming you have an oven and spices in the cupboard, than buying packaged nut snacks, which involve assaulting your bank account. Or so it seems around here. Plus you can fool around with the type of spice and amount of salt, if any.

@ehBeth,
Fave snacks:

Fudgicles (esp the No Name brand), winegums, licorice, spitz, and I'm here to tell you that Chardonnay goes well with all of them

@ehBeth,
ehBeth, those would gag me. I don't like flavoured things, especially coffee.
