c mon. lets talk about simpsons!!!!!
Alright. Why are they still on the air; they haven't been any good for years.
I loved the recent episode about "Freedom" when Bart accidentally moons the flag and the whole family gets sent away to a prison to remake them into patriots. It was a perfect comment on our times.
One question Frost - whats the go with your cartman avatar? (I want one!!) I love both Southpark and Simpsons but - all the same satires about the same world.
My favourite segments from the Simpsons are varied - I pick up bits and pieces I remember from certain episodes but I will always love the bit in Southpark when everyone wanted to become gay after the fab five fad.
Cartman how can you possibly be half-bi?
Well my grandpa was bi so that should make me a quarter bi.
For the simpsons, I think the episode that brought a tear to my eye was Lisa marrying (or about to marry) that the UK Hugh fellow - but she left him because he didn't appreciate her family. I hope I have the courage to do the same if I was in a similar situation.
Otherwise - hey, I have to say that Grandpa simpson is my favourite old man. "I'm old! gimme gimme gimme!!"
this goes out to coluber2001 hey wuz ur f***n' problem dude? if u dont like 'the simpsons' just leave us alone. this forum is JUST 4 FANS OF THE SIMPSONS , so why u bother to send a post in the first place? Now i havent seen not even one episode from the 15th season cuz i cant find them in my country (greece). the only way i can find them is on the internet but my speed is not that fast and i dont want to wait 2 or 3 days to download just one episode. So what about the new season of ONE OF THE BEST TV SERIES?
Simpsons!
the simpsons are an awesome show but they r getting old the new generation of funny cartoons are coming in with the likes of futurama and family guy. The simpsos has gone on for toooooooo long and in the 15th series there is no new material
whoa, frost, settle down. You didn't specify that you had to have nice things to say. A good forum has both sides. If he/she doesn't like the simpsons, let 'em say so. You want everyone to think like you, don't come here.
Relax.
______________
Anyway, back on task:
I love the simpsons. Always have. I think they are still going pretty strong, personally. I Tivo them every week since I seem to never be around when they come on.
Most Simpsons episodes still get me to laugh even when I catch them in re-runs. Sure there is the occasional one that doesn't get to me as much but the writing is consistently good (although I wish they'd have more of Mayor Quimby, he is under-utilized).
Can't wait for the seventh season to come out on DVD!
Obviously, the "Simpsoms" is suffering from the same thing that most sitcoms now suffer from; the story is created by committee. You can't have good literature that is created by a committee of people.
Sure you can...have you never been on an internet forum? These boards and any topics within can be considered a form of literature.
As for The Simpsons, I hope they get another 10 to 15 years of air time with new episodes. I loved them from the second I saw them in the segments from The Tracy Ullman Show on Fox.
Me too, Sturgis.
I remember being a kid and 'suffering' through Tracy Ulman just so I could see the toons. I was too young to find Tracy funny.
I still get laughs watching the Simpsons. Have a large portion of my brain loaded with quotes.
You all must remember back in 94 (or was it 95?) there was the big "Who Killed Mr. Burns" Scandal, and it ended up being Maggie. I got so into that. I was only in the fourth grade...but I loved it! Other episodes I really like: When Former President George Bush (Dubbya's father) goes to live next door to the Simpsons, the episode where Bleeding Gums teaches Lisa how to play the saxophone (a really old one) and I especially like the episode where Moe rips off Homers idea for the "Flaming Homer" and turns it into the "Flaming Moe," makes a bunch of money off from it, and abandons Homer. There are lots of other good episodes, but I cant remember them all.
The "Who Shot Mr. Burns" episode concluded the sixth season. The mystery was resolved in the first episode of the seventh season.
The seventh season DVD set is going to be released in December! WOO-HOO!!!
