what type of wiring am I doing???

I have about six months experience wiring together meter boxes, and this may a dumb question because Im new but what category of wiring does this fall under? like I hear the term control wiring a lot, is that what that is?im really curious because I want to know what my experience is in in order to get a better job and hopefully start a career in wiring
