You know, I was going to take a peek at it however, the Last Dune mini series didnt thrill me all that much so, I passed it by.
Did you get to see any of it?

Yep - have seen both episodes so far. Actually got both on tape lastnight. I don't think they are as good as the original Dune, but they are much better than much of the TV offerings if you are into SCI-FI like that. I do enjoy the story line - tonight offers a twist in that Paul's Children know it's time to bring an end to the "Paul" Religion.

A better adaptation than "Dune" with a more provocative viewpoint -- any guess where Lucas got his story inspirations for the last two "Star Wars" movies? I think this is his mistake -- Herbertizing the storylines instead of sticking to the original mythology he created in the first three films.
A very rewarding TV experience in my opinion -- the art direction, sets and costumes were quite effective although I'm sure non-Herbert readers got very lost in the plot machinations.

I just rewatched the miniseries less about 85% of the commercials, really picked up more of the themes I seemed to miss with the commercials!
THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

The wide screen version on DVD would be the way to watch it -- better picture (Sci-Fi Channel would do well to go digital) and sound (digital five channel on a good home system is better than the movies!) I hope the complete the series.
