Consider the classroom the 3D xyz space.
A student with his butt in his chair, while his head might be in the library 100 meters away, in the football field 200 meters away, in the swimming pool 300 meters away…if the lecture is dull enough, even in the beer bar 1000 meters away…
When the student is reading books in the library with his butt in the chair, his head might be in different seats in the classroom.
When the student standing at the door of the classroom, his head might be in the library, the football field, the swimming pool…the beer bar…, also it might be in different seats in the classroom. The more seats in the classroom his head is in, the fewer outside scenes his head is in; the more outside scenes his head is in, the fewer seats in the classroom his head is in.
