Doing anything special for Independence Day 2019?

Reply Wed 3 Jul, 2019 09:18 pm
I have a lot of work to do and business to take care of. I'd like to watch an Independence Day Parade online or on TV, and catch a fireworks show, if and when I have the time.

What about you?

Please help- thank you.

@JGoldman10,
I wont be doing anything special. In fact the day will probably pass without me even noticing.

Not planning on anything in particular. Probably just go about the day enjoying the quiet which takes possession of the city on holidays.

Later on, take in the local fireworks. A combination of television viewing and not so fabulous viewing from my windows. If they got rid of that 20-story building it would be better for viewing. This way I see things on both sides of it. Hey, it's free so what the heck, might as well enjoy.

Today my daughter and I are taking a 6.5 hour bus ride from Mexico City to Guadalajara! I am wearing my American flag shirt to celebrate the day. But, I doubt anyone notices.

Indepemdence day here is celebrated in September.

@hightor,
I was making an intended pun. If I may ask, are you an American?

Despite its flaws, the U.S. is still a great country.

@JGoldman10,

You're right, man — I missed it! I've been so damn fixated on environmental degradation that I may have become a little defensive. More like offensive! Currently it's plastic pollution; at least it takes my mind off Trump.

I think I'd identify more as an earthling.
