A friend of ours moved and brought us a bunch of perishables and canned goods etc, among which were several cans of Salmon. Now I love Salmon but am looking askew at the canned stuff, although I hear it's very healthy.
Any recipe suggestions? If anything looks tasty I promise to get squinney on it right away....
will someone please channel Cav and help me out there?
First, open one and check it out. Some salmon has been known to turn pink in the can.
I am of the opinion that canned fish should be treated like canned tuna. Dump it in some mac and cheese, or make sandwiches from it.
Actually that sounds pretty good right now.
Wehad this same discussion just a little while back. Let me take a look...
You could use it to make salmon spaghetti - just cook
the spaghetti al dente, mix the salmon in it, some olive oil
and some capers. Et voilĂ !
thanks eoe how nice, and how nice to read Cavs posts. It's like he's still here and I guess in a sense, when we have his posts to read he is.
My mother used to make cassarole from canned salmon a couple of times a month when I was growing up. I love salmon, but hated the crunchy bones in the canned variety.
