Oregon coast.

Here's a photo looking down at Ecola S.P. near Cannon Beach...

Yes, Piffka. It's called "Haystack Rock," on Oregon coast ... Cannon Beach.

Your turn.

Thanks, Tico. Have you been there? It's a great place to take the family and Oregon is nuts for soccer because of Nike.

I'm real sorry I missed the Leavenworth round since we used to go there so often our kids called it "Liverwurst."

So... where in the world is this?

Tough one, huh?
Very Happy

Here are a couple of clues:

An American poet died here in 1963...

And another view:

Quote:

Along the sea-wall, a steady sloshing of the swell,
The waves not yet high, but even,
Coming closer and closer upon each other;
A fine fume of rain driving in from the sea,
Riddling the sand, like a wide spray of buckshot,
The wind from the sea and the wind from the mountain contending,
Flicking the foam from the whitecaps straight upward into the darkness.

Obviuously, we use more than once the same sources ... and search the same similar, per se

And thank heavens for good hints, huh? Wink

The Bloedel Reserve is what I was looking for, Francis, your turn.

Sorry Walter... and you worked so hard to find the exact address and everything!

So, if either of you two ever come visiting to Seattle, I'll take you on a ferry ride to Bainbridge and a tour of the Bloedel (but remember, it is closed both Mondays and Tuesdays).

Roethke, who had been drinking, was drowned in a swimming pool on the estate. It was later filled in and turned into this zen garden:
