Gosh, I've been very busy today, didn't have a chance to look into
this thread at all.
Walter, this is only the tip of the iceberg - our mayor resigned 2 weeks
ago and the city officials are investigated by the FBI. Monies were
embezzled and allocated funds redistributed into other (private) channnels.
Unbelievable what has happened in this town just over the course of
last year.
The funding cuts for the libraries are part of the budget cuts, the city
has to endure for many years to come.
Fortunately, I live in a part of town where there are plenty of private
resources, and we have a great library close by that is privately financed,
and has an enormous selection of books.
