Hint:

William Byrd of Virginia had lots of ginseng ROOTS on his property. Ginseng is still prized for its curative properties.

Another hint:

This is the home of a man who shares a last name with an English astronomer. Mark Twain came in with IT and went out with IT.

Love it, George:

The Longaberger Basket was built in 1997 as the manufacturer's headquarters at a cost of $30 million. The seven-story building is an exact replica of a medium-sized Longaberger picnic basket. Synethetic plaster was used to create the curved basket weave exterior. The handles are heated to prevent ice from forming and falling onto the roof.

Dresden, Ohio.

Absolutely right, my furry friend. It's fun when we move rapidly, no? Even though we may feel better when we locate a difficult place.

American in the sense of "North American."
Definite French influence.
