I figured you did, but I don't know if you consider an hour and possibly two away, depending on traffic, as right in the bay area. Relative to the whole northern part of california it is, yes. Locals would call it out of town.

I can fantasize living there, I love that whole area. Was there for a wedding at Manka's Inn in Inverness a couple of years ago.
Well, I didn't stay at Manka's myself, not having 450 a night.
I split a suite with friend Richard at (name to be remembered) for far far far less. Drove through Tomales on my way north, got to be in a parade as I did that, with people waving at me as I drove through.

Most of that area is non residential property and so beautiful I could cry, not to be maudlin. I have photos, but I'm in mid packing for a move, won't post now.

Some of my online friends were once going to meet at Dillon Beach, which is probably more gorgeous, but that never happened. I myself liked Point Reyes Station and Olema (good restaurant there, night before the wedding dinner).

I'll have to dig up a link for my cheapo place to stay, it was just fine - back with that.

I have a vague recollection of the town hall, but that's about it.
