i believe it has to be north-carolina ... i don't think the parkway goes through south-carolina

(we'll have a hard time pinning it down, a/t the north-carolina website on waterfalls in the state there is one in every statepark)

Asheville is almost correct.
Could you specify the "wilderness" or the "falls?"

The falls were at Skinny Dip Falls,
Shining Rock Wilderness,
along Blue Ridge Parkway.
