Oh, and I suppose the correct answer has two parts: (1) where the house is supposed to be located, and (2) where the house was actually built and filmed.

Who said it wasn't Hitchcock? I did say c.i. was on the right track. In fact, I'm sure he is thinking of the correct movie, he just can't put a name to it.

Yes, nice job. And the very site I got my picture.

The completed answer is the movie setting is Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota.

The house was built in Culver City, where MGM was.
