I'll start with Perugia, but I don't think it's the arch I remember.

I've a snappy visual memory, but not always.

Absolutely.

We stayed in a hotel over a good restaurant in that piazza. Didn't know it was that good a restaurant (Giovanni da Verrazzano? or maybe that was the albergo name) at the time, just had some antipasto and some pasta and some wine.

That was also where the bank was, that wouldn't take my travelers' check, because I signed on the line where you are supposed to sign it. I got all huffy. My husband got huffy at me for getting huffy. I was driving. I made that Panda bounce, and not on purpose, as we lurched out of the piazza toward Radda.. We started talking again when the near hundred year old woman made us espressos at Villa e Sesta.

We had walked in the piazza the evening before. Noticed a macellaria across from the albergo and restaurant. I found out sometime later that that is a very well regarded macellaria.

That piazza is also a market square..

Greve is, as Fb knows, a wine distribution center for Chianti. Turns out it is also famous for lace, but I didn't find that out until later either.

So, Fb, where in Venice did you lose your baseball cap?
