The shape looks like the nib of an ice axe (for climbing ice).

LOL - When you said 'by', I thought you meant 'near' = I don't know but I'll check, ok?

This is driving me crazy, as I've seen this photo...

just for fun, folks, look up Calatrava on google images and you'll see what I'm referring to. But this particular photo seems more constrained than something by him.

But what...

is this in the south west of Canada or the north west of the US?

In the northwest of Canada, hon, but not in the territories...he's a first nations architect Smile And it's not a building, but a tourist attraction... and it works.

but I realllly like Calatrava! He's wonderful.

satt - I think you've got the gist of it, although I haven't explored it enough, you seem to be right on the money. It's in northern, cold Canada, so your comment makes a lot of sense. However, it's not in permafrost country...

And I toddled off to read my never ending book. Still mean to follow Mame's question.

In the meantime, what is that ugly thing, Letty? Looks like a mussel shell with a big white plastic rose in it...

kidding, mostly.

OK, is this in the US?

On mame's question, I'm gonna go searching.

Yes, osso. U.S. I got the inspiration from a site that I came across entitled World Changers. I was amazed at the folks listed among them.

Hey, Dutchy. While we await Mame's return, and before Letty has to turn in, can you guess my place?

Oops, you're faster than the flying Dutchman, honey. Yes, it's a memorial, and it's in the U.S. There was a movie about her.
