That's it, osso. My particular picture was taken in Northern Georgia. I chose it because I miss the fall of the year.

We camped at a place called Walnut Flats at the Virginia section. It was very primitive, and we had to fill our RV from a hand pump. My German shepherd saved my life at that particular spot.

Your turn.

Bill Bryson wrote a book on hiking the trail - I forget the name. It was one of the few books of his I really liked.

Back with a photo.

googling frantically gets me exactly nowhere

Byron swam the Hellespont, the stretch of water linking the Aegean with the Black Sea (3 May 1810). He also swam the mouth of the Tagus River (Lisbon, Portugal), and from the Lido to the Rialto Bridges (Venice, Italy).

so I'm guessing the hellesspont between Greece and Turkey is the area we are talking about?

Sorry to confuse you, honey. This man supposedly discovered this ancient city. His name is German. The discovery is in Turkey. Many archaeologists think that he did more to destroy than he did to restore.

Once again, just name the man and his discovery. You already have the country. Hint: the last part of this caption was a type of warfare in WWI.

turkey and greeks and ruins would have to be Troy, trojan horse and all. Odysyuss was one of my sons favorite stories.

I cant find that photo and I need to retire for the evening so now that I have done all the hard work someone else will get the glory.

As Ned Kelly said Ah well such is life. (I dont really mind)
