Really if you want to get to the economics of things - for each individual an item can be overprice or overrated. It really depends on what sort of utility (benefit or enjoyment) out of something. For example the Harley - one person stated that riding a Harley is living a myth - for them the amount of utility is huge, therefore fully supporting the high price. For another they would derive the same utility for owning a fast car - so the Harley is not worth the price.
For me, I do love baseball, but the high ticket prices and food prices, dedicate that I will get more utility for the money by attending minor games and watching the sox at home. Although when I get the rare pair of tickets from work, I fully take advantage of it and pay the $6 for a beer.
i find abercrombie and fitch way overpriced. i mean who pays $10 for a thong for a 10 year old? not to mention who lets their 10 year old wear a thong.
as far as the motorcycles, mr. dragon wants a hybusa which he claims can go from 0-200 in round about 7 seconds...is that true?
The Hayabusa will hit 200mph, not sure if it will bone stock but will definitely with a couple mods...and it takes longer than 7 seconds to hit top speed. Does the 1/4 mile in mid-10 seconds. It's THE street bike for top end.
I hope he's got some good experience on bikes, that's a lot of motorcycle to handle.
Ass...you pay dearly in money, dignity, freedom, time, suffering, listening to crap you don't care about, definitely way overpriced.
I, like all guys, will continue to pay however.
You just have to, whether you're paying directly or indirectly...and you do pay.
Gas is overprice now. It hit 1.05/ltr here in Canada. Not sure about U.S or anywhere else. But i don't see it slowing down.

With all due respect Montana - you have obviously never tried to farm. Food in this country is actually too cheap.
I agree about health insurance.
I unplugged the TV cable service years ago when it was $16.99 a month. I thought that was rip off.
Cable TV - Every month when I get the bill, I have to do deep breathing before opening.
As far as I'm concerned, my TV can be thrown into the Gulf of Mexico.
The Grand Poobah loves his movies though, so we are subscribed to all these pay channels.
However, instead of being out drinking and whoring, he's home watching 'blowed up' movies.
And I sit with the ear muffs you wear to the shooting range on, reading a book.

Satellite TV! It costs wayyy to much, but my hubby, like yours, Chai Tea, likes to sit and watch those movies. Oh well, I guess that is what happens in marriage after awhile. Things get routine and boring! I will go visit friends or talk on the phone when he is into a movie. Besides sat TV, I think food is costing a lot more than it used to, do you think so too? Eating out especially!

Who said anything about routine and boring?
Those 2 things happen to be our individual passions.
Books and Films.

I didn't mean to imply that your marriage was dull and boring! I was laughing when you said you wear ear muffs when he's watching his movies! I gathered that movies were not your passion?! But you do like to watch some of them? The old classics?
Oh, sometimes I like watching movies, but usually I like to read....
I do wear those ear muff though, really.
Keeps things nice and quiet.
Oh, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the obvious overpriced/overrated item.....Starbucks.
WTF?

does that include their chai?
HA!!!!
I know how to buy a box of chai, and know how to bring water to a near boil.
You know what, if I'm awake enough to handle heavy machinery, like a car, I don't need coffee.
I also have this fabulous thing in my house....A coffee maker!!!!
Ya see, you put some water in the back at night before you go to bed, then you put some coffee in a special place in the coffee maker.....
there's an espresso machine sitting forlornly on a shelf in my kitchen
but Chai...
7 dollar a cup coffee is special.. dont you know that?
Those who drink it are above those of us who make our own coffee,,,
and it's so empowering to be able to say, veinte soy chai frappuccino with no whipped cream
Oh dear, and me with $7.00 dollars begging to be spent.
For 7 and some change I can make a big pot of barracho beans with rotel tomatos and lean lean lean what's that italian bacon called?
Mexicans can never believe at white girl can bring such goodness to their table.
Really easy reciepe shewolf, I bet you'd like it....
one pound dried pinto beans
1 can rotel tomatos, the fiesta tomatos with lime and cilantro are the best....it you aren't going to use the rotel, don't even bother making them.
1 12oz package of, damn what's it called, pancetta, that's it! There a brand that already all diced up, no work at all.
about 4 tablespoons of HEB brand Barracho Bean spice.
-----------
Simmer the beans for one hour, you know, with enough water to keep them covered. Start 'em off with about 3 inches over them.
Add the spices and pancetta - simmer one more hour.
Add the tomatos....one more hour and you're done.
It is spicy, but not the type that burns your mouth for 15 minutes afterward. It kicks you in the tastebuds, but doesn't go overboard.
It's not that much meat, since your going to end up with 3 pounds of beans by the time they've cooked.
Yitwail - I don't know where you live, do you like mexican food? I'm sure you could find comparable spices.
HA! I guess I never felt the need to be empowered by ordering coffee from a college student.
wow.. that sounds good.
i can make spanish rice really well-
buy can of spanish rice
Open
Serve
SEE!!!
actually I will try that recipe . Throw in a little salted pork?
ohhh yummmy
there is something about ordering from a college student period.
No matter if it is coffee, pizza, or food..i always feel strange.
Dunno why
