I red there dogs used by law enforcement to sniff out hidden electronic objects (e.g., thumb drives).

What molecules does a thumb drive give off?

Triphenylphosphine oxide (TPPO) covers the circuit boards in all storage devices from large hard drives down to microSD cards. Also hydroxycyclohexyl phenyl ketone (HPK) is found in CDs, DVDs, and floppy disks.

Just use Google to find any number of articles about dogs that sniff out electronics.
