I have to admit that I'm half tempted to call in for the "loser" guy just to see how they would market him.

From what I understand about American Idol, it is a blessing to make it far, get noticed, then get voted off. I've heard that the winners are locked into contracts that are not really advantageous.

I suppose that a contact is a contract though and a nice thing for any struggling singer to acquire.
