Although I admit I seem to have entirely screwed up my signature. I'll have to go kill it.

Ok, that looks spiffy, but I've killed the link.
Ah well, I'll consider it again in the morning.

I think it is time to let your mystique go peacefully, BVT:

That would upon the rack of this tough world
Stretch him out longer.

I have always been intrigued and amused by the juxtaposition of the two french words cogner, to knock someone out, or to "conk" them on the head . . . and cognac

Huh, I am not so amused right now. I gave a link from which my signature was derived, eh, I said it myself. Why was this a question? Now I am getting port and cognac nudges.

I apparently killed my signature by putting the thread link in front of the signature quote. So, big deal.

"Can we agree to disagree? No? Come one! We have to agree to disagree!"

(SNL sketch from a few years back, deadlocked partisan House of Reps could not pass anything, not even a resolution to agree to disagree...)

I am guessing here, but I think that Noddy may be talking about Discreet's thread, "The Bright Side of Slavery".

in that case, since i'm agnostic & i posted on it, perhaps i'm one of the usual suspects, although i didn't think i'd been around a2k long enough to earn that moniker. if it was the thread in question, i certainly don't think of Discreet as being "helpless", newbie notwithstanding.

i also think it would be constructive to post one or two quotes that represent the mockery of newbies noddy is criticizing, just in case the offenders are doing so inadvertently.

I might agree with you, chances are pretty good that I do, but this is not the right thread.

Consider cutting and pasting...
