Is commas correct in this sentence or commas shouldn't be there:
When writing scientific papers, the scholars have to conduct a vast amount of research, in order to sound reasonable and persuasively.

Comma after "papers"
No comma after "research"
* "Are" commas correct
One car 'is' in the garage.
Two cars 'are' in the driveway.
One boy 'is' riding a bike.
Three girls 'are' singing.
